Follow Up and Track

Goal: Most sales don't happen on the first message. This is the system that catches the rest.

What we're doing

You've sent 100 messages. Most of them will be ignored — not because your offer is bad, but because timing is everything and people are busy. The follow-up is where most of the sales actually happen.

Three follow-ups per person, spread over 7 days. Each one adds something new — not just "hey, did you see my message?" That's noise. Each message should give them a new reason to act.

The DM templates below also work as texts or WhatsApp messages.

Track where everyone is in the funnel

Adjust your spreadsheet manually based on where everyone is in the funnel.

How to respond based on the funnel

  • If they have bought: Send them a message back confirming how great it is that they bought it.
  • If they have logged in: Adjust the message to the fact that they probably are interested but haven't actually pulled the trigger.
  • If they have answered you back: Try and answer back as quickly as possible.
  • If they have NOT answered: Use the follow-up cadence below.

The follow-up cadence

Three touchpoints over 7 days. After that, move on. Treat them like a friend from now on, keep it warm, natural, and pack in the value.

Follow-up 1 — Day 2

Value prop: You already built them a custom page and add in a free guide. Act like you're checking in on a buddy.

DM / Text / WhatsApp:

Hey [name]! Just checking if you saw the page I put together for you?
It's fully built and ready to go. Let me know what you think, happy to
help you out!

Hey [name],

Yesterday I sent you a personal mini website I built for you.

I also wanted to add a free guide I wrote: "5 Steps to a
Clean Link-in-Bio That Converts."

Would love to hear your thoughts.

Best,

Follow-up 2 — Day 4

Value prop: free to start, takes a couple of minutes to set up, and looks polished.

DM / Text / WhatsApp:

Hey [name], forgot to mention it's free to start building, only takes a couple
minutes to set up and make it look good.

Hey [name],

A couple of days ago I sent you info about the mini link-in-bio builder I
made.

I forgot to mention it's free to start building and only takes a couple of minutes to set up and make it look good.

Follow-up 3 — Day 6

Final value prop: free to start building, only $12/year to launch, and a 14-day money-back guarantee.

DM / Text / WhatsApp:

Last time bugging you about this 😂. You can start building a personal mini site for free and it's
only $12 a year to launch. Plus there's a 14-day money-back guarantee, so
no risk if you wanna try.

After follow-up 3 — move on

If they haven't responded after three follow-ups, they're not interested right now. That's fine. Move them to not interested in your spreadsheet.

Keep the spreadsheet current

After every action — sent message, got a reply, signed up, or bought — update the status manually in your spreadsheet. Also update Last contact date every time you message someone. Don't let it get stale.

The statuses:

  • not contacted — haven't sent anything yet
  • contacted — first message sent
  • opened — they opened / replied to the message
  • signed up — they logged in (see Supabase) but haven't paid
  • paid — they bought (see Stripe)
  • not interested — three follow-ups, no response

This is the core flow for a cold lead that does not convert: not contacted -> contacted -> opened -> not interested.

If they move forward instead, the row ends at signed up or paid.

A quick scan of your spreadsheet at the end of each day tells you exactly where you stand, who to follow up with, who's moved forward, who to write off.

Verification

You have a follow-up system. You know how to track where people are in the funnel using your DM inbox, Supabase, and Stripe. You know the exact three-message cadence for non-responders, and you know when to stop. Work the system until all 100 people have either paid, responded, or reached follow-up 3.

$100M Leads — Alex Hormozi

The follow-up framework in this module is directly inspired by Hormozi's principles on touchpoints and persistence.
